The newest member of our family of sport-based ergometers is the Concept2 BikeErg. It brings to cycling the benefits and features we've previously brought to rowing and cross-country skiing. Similar to Concept2 RowErgs and SkiErgs, it has a flywheel and performance monitor. The flywheel uses air resistance to produce a quiet, smooth ride that reacts to your efforts. The damper is your "gearing," allowing you to modify how your ride feels. The BikeErg has a clutch, unlike the majority of stationary bikes, so when you stop pedaling, the flywheel continues to spin just like on a regular bike.
A variety of apps, including our own free app ErgData and third-party ones like Zwift, can be connected to the powerful Performance Monitor via Bluetooth. Your smartphone or tablet can be kept safely in place using the integrated device holder that is included with the BikeErg. The device holder is quickly and easily adjustable, accommodating everything from tiny smartphones to large tablets. The Performance Monitor can be moved to the end of the handlebar rail by removing the device holder.
